Worldwide, the pandemic affected all people, regardless of their economic class. But it should be noted that the most affected were those without resources.The public centers, like hospitals in our country could not cope with the huge number of people infected by COVID, and it is here, where the country realized that they had a big inefficiency and lack of resources.

 

Public establishments collapsed due to the large number of people who cared for sick people.

In more vulnerable sectors, people knowing that there was already quarantine declared by the government, still had to continue going to work to be able to feed their families.

 

The harsh reality in Chile is that if you do not have monetary resources, you cannot have access to good medical care, or treatments for diseases. It is really sad.

This is why many people have to wait many years (between 10-15 years, it depends) for attention and finally they end up dying. Many times they must also wait months to see a doctor (specialist in some diseases, such as oncologists)

 

Hospitals are abandoned, health professionals are poorly paid and not all the money allocated by the state arrives.

This aspect of health in Chile must be improved, so that all people can have access to quality health, and that people do not continue dying for not having money.
